Wedding? Yeah, sometime...

Not that anyone who reads my LJ cares...but here are some tentative plans. I've tried searching around theknot.com, but I think that they're a little over-the-top for how I want my wedding to be.

Location: Kevin's parents' house - Perry, ME. The backyard is beautiful, and Rhoda has an awesome rock wall that I'd love to have the ceremony on. At first, I was going to try to plan for the ceremony on Indian Island, where Kevin's family has a house. The island is technically Canadian land, and after doing a little research, it may be an issue to have an American ceremony on Canadian grounds. So Kevin's parents backyard works for what I want.

Colours: still don't god damn know. First I wanted light blue. Then I thought about really dark blue. (Not necessarily Navy, but more along the lines of Royal blue) Now I'm sort of thinking about Lavender or lilac. I like red, though I think it's a little too intense for the outdoor weddding that I desire. Purple seems sort of too "girly" for men to wear at a wedding...though I do know how men are likening up to the idea of wearing pink these days. If Kevin wants to wear pink on his own time, that's fine...but I don't think I really want pink in my wedding. It's rather overrated. I don't know. I like all colours, really. Maybe I'll hand Jordan and Jesston paint brushes and they can decorate my wedding however the hell they want. I honestly don't know!!!!!

Flowers: I want to have either Daisies or Lillies. Maybe both. They don't really match with each other. My mother's favorite flower was Lilly. I'm not sure if that's what she had at her wedding. My favorite are Daisies. I really do like Lillies a lot though. GAH!!!

My dress: I don't really want a "dress." I would really like to have a skirt and a top. Though most of the white skirts that I find are like the beach cover-ups that are sort of see through. I still really like the top/skirt outfit that Renee and I found in PORT JEFFERSON, NY where we were in this hippie-style shop off of one of the streets there. It was such a beautiful outfit, I really wish I could have afforded to pay for it on the spot.

Dress of Groom: He can wear shorts, if he wants to. A tux would be HOT, but if you continue below, you will see that the Groom wearing a tux would not really be an appropriate contrast.

Dress of Bridal party and guests: Honestly, where whatever you are most comfortable to wear. Preferably no jeans and tee shirts, please, but slacks, shorts, or skirts and casual shirts would be fine.

Now, you can probably get the hint that this is not really going to be formal at all. Nice, not expensive, and definitely not tacky. I have this huge pet peeve with cheap-looking, tacky weddings. Yuck.

Food: Fuck, I don't know. I'm considering potluck at this point. But I have like a year and a half yet before it all happens, so this plan will likely change.

Gift Registry: TBA. Maybe Bed Bath & Beyond. Or Target. Or just be traditional and bring the gifts to the reception. I don't care if we receive gifts at all. As long as the people are there who mean the most to us, then that's the best gift they can bring. We'll love it just the same.

Cake: I'd love my mom to make it, if she were here. She made some fucking awesome cakes, not to mention they were beautiful. :P Other than that, maybe I could ask a dear friend who also happens to make fucking awesome cakes (and beautiful). (Just so happens that she and my mom took the same cake-decorating class...)

Wedding Rings: TBA as I have no clue. We both like white gold, I know that much.

Music: Most likely DJ. *unless I could hire Busted :P
Wedding song: maybe "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman though it's not really a wedding song. I also really REALLY like "You Can Count On Me" by Default. At this point, TBA.

Pictures/Video: TBA. My father takes awesome pictures, but I doubt he'd be the one to do it for his own daughter's wedding....
