First of all Bob [the General manager at Ryan's] called me this morning, "Are you supposed to be coming in today?" all like pissed off or something that I'm late
I told him, "Yes, Andrea told me to come in 12-5" [Andrea is one of the Assistant managers]
He asked, "Did Andrea put you in the computer for that?"
I said, "More than likely she didn't, because I wasn't in the computer the past two days when I tried to punch in"
He said, "Alright, we'll get it figured out when you get here."
god damn...isn't there any communication between managers? *meh* So I get there and Bob tells me that there's already a drawer waiting for me in the register. I also help with seating because everyone is like busy. So when I can, and Anna [another cashier and dear friend of mine] or someone is waiting on people, I just take a party to some table. A couple hours go by...and Bob comes to me and says, "take your break"
I told him, "I don't need one, I'm only here till 5" (it's like 4:00 at this point)
He said "I thought you were scheduled till 9!"
"Bob, I told you on the phone this morning, Andrea told me to come in 12-5"
Bob just huffs and walks off. What a twit...you'd think he'd have wrote down what time his cashiers are supposed to be scheduled, at least when they're not entered into the computer. sheesh. They pulled my drawer around this time too, so I'm stuck with seating for the rest of the night. (not a big deal) Then, 5:00 rolls around, I go to Andrea, thinking at least she'll know what I'm scheduled for..."Can I go home?"
She says, "No, go back up front"
*sigh* whatever and head for the front, continue seating. *yay* A party of 12 comes in and there's like no tables available for them to sit all together (it's like a whole family...yeah, of 12). So Terri [one of the veteran cashiers to Ryan's, she's been there since the restaurant like opened]comes up with this "ingenious" (ha) idea to push 3 4-tops together and there's the 12. BUT only 2 of the 4-tops are available so Terri thinks it's a great idea to wait for the 3rd to leave...yeah right, this 3rd 4-top were 3 old people, and you know the type, they like to take their time when eating the food. And these poor old people had been there for only like 20 minutes. So there's no table. And this party of 12 is getting impatient and [Assistant] Manager Jaimie pulls another 4-top out of an entirely different section (Jaimie is about 5 months pregnant, and getting sort of large. haha, I should tease her, "you're having twins") so I'm like helping with this, it's a good time (not lol) so here's the table of 12 for the party of 12 and now they're happy YAY so this is all between 5 and 5:30...Then Terri's all bitching about temps not being done...but we were like..short-handed (b/c someone called in..someone by the name of Kelly) and I'm supposed to do them...b/c there's like no one else available to do em...so I do the temps in the like quickest fashion that I've ever been known to do them (cuz I usually take forever to do those, kinda on purpose because I HATE seating and having customers get all pissed at me because I put them at the "wrong" table) and it's like 6 by now...I go to Andrea again, "Can I go home?"
she's like, "yeah...uh what time are you scheduled till?"
I told her, "Andrea, YOU told me to come in today 12-5"
and she's like "Oh well yeah, get out of here"
Jesus these managers need to know what the hell is going on.
I change into street clothes and Mike comes to pick me up and now I'm here.

I have to work tomorrow *yay* for ACE. It will be SUCH a breather from Ryan's...in that I actually don't mind working for ACE. god damn the day I have to go back to Ryan's...friday. *help* You ask, "Why did you take a job so far away from school and especially one that you hate so much?" Well, THEY, the bastards, called ME. "Can you come back to work?" Ha, not really. I do not have a vehicle and I'm not entirely sure that my friends would be willing to take me down there all the time. Though I am very thankful for Justine, for this past friday when she took me. *hugz funf* Getting there on friday was a whole confusion in itself BUT we're not talking about that. It's old news. bleh. So basically I'm going to MAKE them want me. I don't have to be there. I'm doing them a favour. sheesh. I can usually get a ride back to Loretto, but I can't get one from Loretto to Ryan's. sucks to be them. Though...I do need the money. I'm trying to save $ so I can get home for Christmas and back, and for my spring break with Kevin. I don't make a whole lot at ACE, getting only 6 hours a week, so I figured, yeah, I could work at Ryan's a while and if I'm at all able to get on the wait staff, then I can save a lot of money. I hope. (yeah, I know it's waitress pay, but I'm looking at tips tips tips) I NEED to make the money for spring break, because if I don't go with Kevin then I don't really have anywhere else to go. (or maybe I do? idk. I'm not spending a week with Bubbs. She's crazy) I don't have anywhere else cuz...I already told Habitat that I'm not going. They won't plan for me at the last minute either. They shouldn't have to. I don't know what to do. I'll probably spend any money I do make at Ryan's on gas money. GOD DAMN. I need something closer. Career Svc has sent around an email about working night shifts at that Exxon place in Ebensburg. I could apply...but what if they hire me and I end up feeling DEAD when I go to class the next morning? No...can't do it. I need my sleep at times when I'm supposed to sleep.

which means now.
